Spirulina is the powdered form of Arthrospira platensis, a blue-green algae that is rich in protein, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. It is used to support healthy skin, a healthy metabolism, lung function and the immune system. There have been field trials in horses (Kellon, 2004) and Spirulina is palatable and readily accepted by most horses and ponies. 

Feeding Guide (Daily): Mix with feed. Pony (< 300kg): 10g-20g | Horse (~ 500kg): 20g-40g | Large Horse (> 600kg): 30g-50g. A level 20g scoop is enclosed

Does not not contain the following ingredients:

(a) antibiotic substances:

(b) hormones:

(c) pharmacological substances:

(d) solvents or penetrating agents:

(e) active ingredients that are prescription medicines or restricted medicines (as those terms are defined in the Medicines Act 1981):

(f) substances that are prohibited by countries importing New Zealand primary produce

(g) harmful levels of toxic heavy metals or harmful bacteria.
